Hi,
I've tried to install jre 1.5 on debian 4 without success (asked everywhere and googled a lot for a solutions, but without luck).
Just want to know if somebody is having same problems with jre 1.5 on debian 4 and what linux distribution do you recommend for a test environment of ezp4 and the ez find extension...
Thanks...

If all you need to run is ezfind, you can also try out using jre 1.6.
Otoh I installed java 5 jre on etch no prolem: just add the correct tags to your apt sources to enable non-free repos, and you can fetch it straight out of the official repositories. pkg info is here: http://packages.debian.org/etch/sun-java5-jre
here is a "tutorial" that basically amounts to the same info: http://mediakey.dk/~cc/howto-install-sun-java-on-debian-etch/
could you be more specific about your problems / setup?

I get the error when I try to install jre1.5 from non-free package. The error is:

Like I said I googled for a solution for this error, but didn't found nothing that worked.
I think the error has to do with OpenVZ (I'm testing on a openvz vps in one of our dedicated server), but all the post I've found are related with memory shortage and my error seems not to be related with the vps memory.

Hi
Try installing the JRE5 available on the Sun Java pages.
