Hi
We have used ezFInd before with good results but now we moved to a new server and it just wont start. Would not say Im the big Java expert but at least i know a bit. It seems like jetty starts but the actual solr app does not work.
When trying to run java -jar start.jar i get the following errors:
[root@host.areadigital.org] java >> java -jar start.jar 2008-05-20 23:27:16.877::INFO: Logging to STDERR via org.mortbay.log.StdErrLog 2008-05-20 23:27:17.230::INFO: jetty-6.1.3 2008-05-20 23:27:17.738::INFO: Extract jar:file:/home/areadigital/subdomains/demo/extension/ezfind/java/webapps/solr.war!/ to /tmp/Jetty_0_0_0_0_8983_solr.war__solr__k1kf17/webapp mmap failed for CEN and END part of zip file mmap failed for CEN and END part of zip file mmap failed for CEN and END part of zip file mmap failed for CEN and END part of zip file mmap failed for CEN and END part of zip file mmap failed for CEN and END part of zip file mmap failed for CEN and END part of zip file mmap failed for CEN and END part of zip file mmap failed for CEN and END part of zip file mmap failed for CEN and END part of zip file mmap failed for CEN and END part of zip file mmap failed for CEN and END part of zip file mmap failed for CEN and END part of zip file mmap failed for CEN and END part of zip file mmap failed for CEN and END part of zip file mmap failed for CEN and END part of zip file mmap failed for CEN and END part of zip file 2008-05-20 23:27:17.860::WARN: Failed startup of context org.mortbay.jetty.webapp.WebAppContext@1f78040{/solr,jar:file:/home/areadigital/subdomains/demo/extension/ezfind/java/webapps/solr.war!/} java.util.zip.ZipException: error in opening zip file at java.util.zip.ZipFile.open(Native Method) at java.util.zip.ZipFile.<init>(Unknown Source) at java.util.jar.JarFile.<init>(Unknown Source) at java.util.jar.JarFile.<init>(Unknown Source) at org.mortbay.jetty.webapp.TagLibConfiguration.configureWebApp(TagLibConfiguration.java:171) at org.mortbay.jetty.webapp.WebAppContext.startContext(WebAppContext.java:1215) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.ContextHandler.doStart(ContextHandler.java:500) at org.mortbay.jetty.webapp.WebAppContext.doStart(WebAppContext.java:448) at org.mortbay.component.AbstractLifeCycle.start(AbstractLifeCycle.java:40) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.HandlerCollection.doStart(HandlerCollection.java:147) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.ContextHandlerCollection.doStart(ContextHandlerCollection.java:161) at org.mortbay.component.AbstractLifeCycle.start(AbstractLifeCycle.java:40) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.HandlerCollection.doStart(HandlerCollection.java:147) at org.mortbay.component.AbstractLifeCycle.start(AbstractLifeCycle.java:40) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.HandlerWrapper.doStart(HandlerWrapper.java:117) at org.mortbay.jetty.Server.doStart(Server.java:210) at org.mortbay.component.AbstractLifeCycle.start(AbstractLifeCycle.java:40) at org.mortbay.xml.XmlConfiguration.main(XmlConfiguration.java:929) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Unknown Source) at org.mortbay.start.Main.invokeMain(Main.java:183) at org.mortbay.start.Main.start(Main.java:497) at org.mortbay.start.Main.main(Main.java:115)2008-05-20 23:27:17.896::INFO: Started SocketConnector @ 0.0.0.0:8983
The java installed is:
java version "1.6.0_02" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_02-b05)Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 1.6.0_02-b05, mixed mode)
Im trying to run the script as root so should be ok with the access rights i guess.
Got an angry customer breading down my neck so any ideas or suggestion would be very appreciated :)

Try using Java5, not Java6.

Which version of eZ Find are you running? Noite that the new one (eZ Find 2.3 / Exponential 4.4) requires Sun ( now Oracle) Java 1.6
Also use the most recent JVM
The backend server has been tested on quite some platforms, so it is not a general problem
